This policy describes how ReVerbal handles your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). See also our Terms and Conditions, Data Processing Addendum, AI Transparency Statement, Sub-processors, and Data Locations.
1. Kinds of Personal Information We Collect
We collect: teacher name and email; account credentials; transcript text (when you opt in); AI-generated lesson summaries; technical metadata (logs, session data). We do not store audio recordings. We do not create or retain persistent biometric voice profiles.
2. How We Collect and Hold Personal Information
We collect information directly from you (account signup, feature use), through the service (transcripts, summaries), and automatically via logs. We hold personal information in encrypted cloud storage. Access is restricted and audited.
3. Purpose of Collection, Use and Disclosure
We use personal information for: transcription and lesson summarisation; account management; service reliability; security; and legal compliance. We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information to train AI models.
4. Access and Correction
You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting support@reverbal.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe as required under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
5. Complaints Process
If you have a privacy complaint, contact support@reverbal.com.au. We will acknowledge, investigate, and respond. If you are not satisfied, you may escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
6. Overseas Disclosure
Personal information may be disclosed to service providers in Australia and the United States. We take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure overseas recipients protect your information, including contracts and encryption.
7. Data Retention
Transcripts are retained per our policy (default 30 days with automatic deletion). You may delete earlier. On account deletion, your data is removed. Audio is processed transiently and not retained.
8. Hosting Transparency
Our infrastructure is hosted in Australia and the United States. We will notify you before relocating data to a new region. See our Data Locations page for details.
